Sarah Hein, Joanna Burnham and Grace Flemming each won two individual events as the DeKalb-Sycamore swim team beat LaSalle-Peru/Ottawa/Streator, 114-56, on Thursday.

Hein won the 100-yard freestyle in 57.7 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.83. Burnham won the 200 individual medley in 2:20.67 and the 100 butterfly in 1:06.20. Grace Flemming showed off her range with wins in the 500 free (5:32.02) and 50 free (27.08).

 

“This meet, we put the girls in their off events and they still dominated at both levels,” coach Melanie Chambers said. “The girls are getting to the point in their season where they are training very tough and performing in meets is getting more challenging. They are rising to the challenge and achieving their goals.”
