Cats Win Girls' Sectional

In their last Sectional contest, the Wildcats of Luther North performed at a very high levwl, winning the IHSA Sectional meet held at Hanson Stadium.  More importantly, the team qualified 2 relays and 10 individual events for next week's State meet at Eastern Illinois University.   Our 4x8 relay team of Cameron Boone, Leah Uteg, Becca Everett, and Alana Santos finished in 2nd to advance to state, while the 4x1 team of Jada Williams, Natasha Bernett, Boone, and Kayla Williams finished 1st.   Williams also won the 100m dash and took 2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the 400m to advance to state in all three.  Armstrong won the 400m and 200m and finished 2nd to Williams in the 100m to also advance in three events.  Bernett won the high hurdles, low hurdles, and triple jump, while Charlotte LaFleur advanced to state by finishing 2nd in the discus throw.

The Cats will travel to EIU next week for the State Meet - one last shot at dreams!
