In a spring full of bittersweet experiences, the last conference track meet by the Wildcats in the Northeastern Athletic Conference was one of the sweet ones. She was matched by junior Natasha Bernett, who took 1st place in three events as well (high jump, high hurdles, and low hurdles) along with a 2nd place in the triple jump. Senior Jada Williams scored with 2nd place finishes in the 100m and 200m dashes as well as the high jump, and added a 3rd place finish in the 400m. Charlotte LaFleur took 2nd the shot put and 4th in the discus. The team will now focus their efforts on preparing for the IHSA Sectional meet coming up in May to qualify athletes for the State Finals. Our last ever home track meet will be this Tuesday, May 2. We invite everyone to come out to the track one last time to cheer on our Wildcats! We have special alumni events planned as well to help us celebrate the Wildcat track and field tradition of the past.
