Wildcats Shine at State Indoor Meet
The Illinois Top Times meet is considered by most to be the unofficial indoor state meet. Three Wildcat girls competed and they all showed that they belong with being ranked with the best in the State. Senior Kayla Armstrong won the 400m dash (1:00.58) championship and finished 2nd in the 200m (26.29) and 3rd in the 60m (8.00). Fellow senior sprinter Jada Williams ran the same 3 events and finished 4th in the 200m (26.50), 6th in the 60m (8.05), and 8th in the 400m (1:02.18). Junior Natasha Bernett jumped to a 4th place finish in the high jump (5'2") and a 5th place finish in the triple jump (34'10"), and finished with 5th place in the 60m high hurdles (9.44).
Sam Miller also competed in the boys 60m high hurdles and finished in 18th (9.37) and gained valuable experience.
The Cats will now transition to the outdoor season with their first home meet on Tuesday, April 4.
