Father McGivney track completed in their first April outdoor track meet in a successful fashion.
Starting on Tuesday, April 10, the F-S Boys were able to garner 2 medalist performances in the Highland F-S Boys Invitational: Freshman Brandon Ahring finished 5th in the 3200m, and Freshmen Tyler Guthrie, Tanner Fox, Andrew Dupy and Sophomore Clayton Scott were 6th in the 3200m relay.
Coming back Friday night in the Staunton Inviational, running against mainly 1A competition, the Running Griffins quadruped their medalist total: the 4x800m relay team of: Zach Brasel, Tyler Guthrie, Ellijah Burns and Andrew Dupy were meet champions, running 9:15. Zach Brasel came back to win the 1600m in a personal best time of 5:03. Tanner Fox was second in the 3200m run, Andrew Dupy was 5th in the 400m dash with a personal best of 57.4. The 4x400m relay team of: Zach Brasel, Andrew Dupy, Clayton Scott, and Aaron Boulanger took third in 3:59. Tyler Guthie took 6th in the 800m run.
On the ladies side, Bridget Weeks was 6th in the 400m dash, and Mira McAtee took 6th in the 1600m run.
As the weather warms, our young team continues to train and looks to set personal bests at each outing.
