Game Summary

Benton Fall Run Cross Country Invitational

Battling the heat and 22 other teams, Father McGivney Cross Country team came within 4 points from 7th State ranked Benton (46-50) over the 2.92 Mile City Park Fall Run.  Sophomore Tyler Guthrie won his first invitational by running 15:45, 17 seconds in front of his teammate jr. Zach Brasel.  Despite the 1, 2 finish, the Griffins could not overcome the 24-sec. 1-5 split of the state ranked Benton Rangers.  Tanner Fox again ran a strong #3 for 9th in 16:28.  Brandon Ahring was the final medalist in 18th. Diego Pacheco (dual sport soccer) ran 5th spot in a gutty race finishing 22nd.  Elijah Burns was 24th and Andrew Dupy 7th runner in 45th.
158 runners total.  Clayton Scott finished 49, Noah Beltremea 54, Christian Logue 110, and Mark Mueller 120.

On the girls side, Mira McAtee and Bridget Weeks finished 22nd (just out of top 20 medalist), and Bridget 30th.  Izzy Margarida was 83rd.  9 full teams and 20 partial.

Excellent efforts all across the board...either racing against other teams, or against the elements and our own mental limitations...we are learning to compete!!
