The Newark track team competed at the Mooseheart Relays on 5/5/18. It was nice weather for a change for the kids to compete in. Overall the Norsemen did very well. Below are the results from the meet.
The 4 x 100 girls team consisting of Evie Martin, Brooke Kala, Taylor Christian and Kenna Borton placed 4th with a time of 55.50 seconds.
The same group of girls placed 3rd in the 4 x 400 with a time of 4:38.77 and setting a new school record.
Kenna Borton also placed 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 15’11”
Taylor Christian better her school record in the 800meters with a time of 2:50.59 seconds.
Brooke Kala placed 3rd in the open 400 with a time of 106.13 finally breaking her older sister Nikki’s school record. Brooke also placed 4TH in the triple jump with a distance of 29’3.25”
Evie Martin placed 3rd in the high jump with a height of 4’8”
On the boys side of the competition.
The 4 x 100 team consisting of Dru Brown, Tanner Kunkel, Steve Martin, Jacob Chapman placed 5th with a time of 49.78 seconds.
The 4 x 200 team consisting of Dru Brown, Tanner Kunel, Steve Martin and James Loucks placed 5th with a time of 1:50.17 seconds.
The 4 x 400 team consisting of Jacob Chapman, Beau Brown, Steve Martin and Connor Swanson placed 4th with a time of 3:51.43 seconds.
Beau Brown placed 6TH in the discus with a 98 ‘0” toss.
Jacob Chapman bettered his school record in 800 meters with a time of 2:18.74 seconds.
Tanner Kunkel placed 5th in the long jump with a distance of 17’9”
Connor Swanson placed 1st in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.16 improving his own school record, and 3rd place in the long jump with a distance of 19’7”
