Varsity Tennis Opens Season With Successful 24 Hour Marathon
Facing an upcoming season trying to replace 7 of 8 starters and 3 State qualifiers will be challenging, but this years team jumped straight into this season with 5 matches within 24 hours at the Jacobs Invitational. The Invite was a success as the young team finished the dual meet invite with 3-2 record. Led by sophomore state qualifier Lily Darman, now at #1 singles, the team faced extremely warm and draining conditions. Darman went 3-2 and played an amazing 66 games in 22 hours with many of the rallies in themselves very long. Still searching for that #2 singles player, first time singles player Brianna Cozzolino (Jr) went 2-1. Another first time player Haley Kamholz (Jr) and Sam Guzik (Jr) (also catcher and pitcher for Andrew softball) went 3-2 at #2 doubles. Andrew goes into the regular season 3-2 facing new challenges with dual meets this week with Chicago Christian and Crete Monee.
