PANTHERS EDGE SAINTS IN VARSITY TENNIS

The match with Washington got rained out last Wednesday, so it was continued tonight.  When the rain stopped play, the team score was 4-2 in favor of Washington.  That meant the Saints needed to win all three doubles matches tonight to clinch the dual match.  Both the #1 doubles team of Sartoris/Hundman and the #3 doubles team of Lee/Kanski had won their matches handily.  That left the #2 doubles team of Goodlick/Vose on court with the team score tied at 4-4.  Goodlick/Vose didn't go down without a fight - after losing the first set 6-1, they came back to win the 2nd set in a tiebreaker.  Unfortunately, they couldn't quite pull out the 3rd set tiebreaker, but I am proud of the way they fought and I know they became a better doubles team today.  Although the team had its first dual loss of the season, I'm glad we were able to get some competitive matches in across the board!
