The DGS Varsity bowling team won the Fremd invite on Saturday by one pin. The Mustangs took the lead in the invite after the second game and held one for championship. DGS has a high team game of 983. After four games, the Mustangs were in the lead by 80 pins and up on 18 pins after five games. In the sixth game, DGS rolled an 898 and waited and watched as Rockford Guilford tried to catch up but fell short by one pin. Freshman Gillian Czubernat closed out the last game with a 232 to help the Mustangs late. Junior Alexa Ward rolled a 222 in the first game and Senior Madison Painter rolled a 224 in the first game to help pace the Mustangs early. The high DGS score game in game two from junior Emily Spicuzza who rolled 247. Sophomore Janine Anzelone and Junior Sami Mark also helped the Mustangs to the championship. Spicuzza finished 2nd overall averaging 199 and ward finished 3rd averaging 183. Overall the Mustangs averaged 179 for the invite. Way to go MUSTANGS. DGS will travel to Fox Bowl on Wednesday for the annual Crosstown Showdown vs DGN. Come out and support Mustangs Bowling!!!!
