Girls Tennis Dominates Conference with 1st Place Sweep!

Mustang girls tennis makes history for a second year in a row with a 1st place sweep of the West Suburban Gold Conference at all singles and doubles positions.  Prior to last year, this was a feat that hadn't been accomplished since the 1993-94 season.  It was truly a dominant performance with the Mustangs not dropping a set the entire tournament en route to the championship.  Sophomore studs Gerda Jucys and Jillian Urgello repeated as conference champions at the 1st and 2nd singles positions dropping a total of 5 games total between the two of them.  Freshman Chrissa Dimitrakakos captured the 3rd singles title as well defeating a tough Willowbrook player in the finals.  Senior captains Alisha Macas and Lizzie Andonova shined with a peak performance defeating Hinsdale South's top doubles team in the finals to win the 1st doubles title.  2nd doubles team of Kaylee Chang and Mimi Despotovic, 3rd doubles team of Renee Renaud and Sam Perkins, and 4th doubles team of Merit Allendorfer and Aubrey Vernon, all secured 1st place as well.  The Mustangs are peaking at the right time as they prepare for the sectional tournament this upcoming Friday and Saturday at Lyons Township HS.  It was a GREAT day to be a Mustang!
