Winter sports registration is now open. Remember, you must register on 8to18, have a current sports physical and the $150 athletic fee to be eligible to tryout/practice on the first day.

Baseball loses to CLS

Crystal Lake South 10, Dundee-Crown 0 (5 inn.): At Carpentersville, Andrew Engelking and Mark Paul combined on a three-hit shutout to send the Gators to their 12th straight win. Engelking started and allowed two hits in four innings with three strikeouts, while Mark Paul tossed the final inning.

Brian Fuentes went 2 for 2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Gators (12-0, 3-0 FVC), while Griffin Bright led off and was 4 for 4 with two runs scored. Nick Wolski had a double and drove in a run, while Bright, Ryan Parquette, Kory Olsen, Mike Swiatly and Brent Chubb each drove in a run for South.

Ryan Denz, Jon Mays and Matt Marczyk had the only hits for the Chargers (5-5, 2-5), all singles. Remington Stewart took the loss, giving up five runs on six hits in two innings.
