ELK GROVE TOURNAMENT

Girls Soccer - Daily Herald, Scouting the Fox Valley

Dundee-CrownCoach: Sebastian Falinski (10th year, 42-129-12)

Conference: Fox Valley

2016 record: 6-11-1, 2-3 lost in regional semifinal

Top returning players: Sara Kuczynski (Sr., D), Taylor Coffman (Sr., MF), Maggie Griffin (Sr., D), Taylor Gonio (Sr., GK), Anna Kieltyka (Jr., F), Braylin Mensik (Jr., F), Claire Pape (Jr., MF).

Top newcomers: Autumn Seaton (So., MF), Diana Santillan-Ceja (So., GK), Kaitlyn Skibinski (Fr, MF), Rylee Quillen (Fr, F).

Season outlook: Depth and experience haven't been abundant for the Chargers in recent years. Returning forwards Kieltyka and Mensik will provide the offensive spark as Kieltyka is the leading scorer coming back with 7 goals while Mensik recorded 2 goals and 3 assists. Coffman added 3 goals from the midfield. "We have a good core group of players returning with valuable varsity experience that should help move the team in the right direction," Falinski said. "I believe if we want to be competitive this year in all our matches our returning players will have to set the tone for the season."
