Winter sports registration is now open. Remember, you must register on 8to18, have a current sports physical and the $150 athletic fee to be eligible to tryout/practice on the first day.

High school softball roundup: Dundee-Crown earns walk-off victory against Hononegah

Dundee-Crown’s Sydney Ruggles drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday as her ground ball drew an errant throw, scoring Jessica McVicker, and the Chargers took a walk-off victory, 4-3, over Hononegah in nonconference play. Ruggles went 2 for 4 on the day with a double, home run and three RBIs. She also pitched all seven innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits and three walks, while she struck out six. 

Deanna Origer also had a pair of hits for the Chargers (4-2-1), while Claire Weeks had a double, RBI and run scored.
