Winning Pitcher – Grace Bradley (3-4) (1-1)

  • A walk-off home run propelled the Grayslake Central Rams to a decisive, dramatic victory over Lakes, 11-8. The game was tied at eight with the Rams batting in the bottom of the eighth when Grace Bradley homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
  • Bradley led Grayslake Central to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-5 at the plate.  Bradley drove in runs on a home run in the sixth and a home run in the eighth.
  • Lakes opened up scoring in the first inning, when Camryn Jones homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
  • In the bottom of the seventh inning, Grayslake Central tied things up at eight.  Elisa Koshy drove in two when she singled.
  • After Lakes scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Grayslake Central answered with two of their own. Lakes scored when Kelsey Ulrich homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.  The Rams then answered when Lexi Waigand doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Koshysingled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
  • Bradley was the winning pitcher for the Rams. She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three.
  • Kayla Foote took the loss for Lakes. She lasted seven and a third innings, allowing 14 hits and 11 runs while striking out one and walking one.
  • Corinne Heidloff started the game for Grayslake Central.  She surrendered six runs on eight hits over three and a third innings.
  • Lakes hit two home runs on the day. Ulrich went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Jones had a homer in the first inning.
  • The Rams totaled 14 hits. Bradley, Waigand, Koshy, Heidloff, and Brooke Heraty each had multiple hits for Grayslake Central.  Bradley went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Rams in hits.
  • Lakes tallied 13 hits on the day.  Ally Dietz, Foote, Jones, Ulrich, Georgia Ohren, and Rachel Beckerall had multiple hits for Lakes.
