Game Summary

Knights grind out 2-1 Win over Elgin

Tough wind conditions and very cold temperatures certainly had their effect on the game this afternoon.  Both teams played better with the wind, though both teams also managed to find their moments against the wind, when we showed composure on the ball and play the ball on the ground, keeping it simple, trying to keep the wind's impact at a minimum.
In the 29th minute of the first half Senior Forward Lauren Davis finished with a nice shot off an assist from Junior Lauren Hansen.  Just 5 minutes later Lauren Davis scored her second of the game, off a free kick that she earned, about 25 yards out.
With the 2 goal lead going into half time, and us facing the wind in the second, we knew we would have to defend well and limit Elgin's chances.  Unfortunately, we found ourself slightly flat on our feet in the opening minutes of the half and we got beat off a corner kick as Elgin cut our lead in half.  Thankfully with a couple nice saves from Junior Goalkeeper Emily Dunne, and Elgin hitting the crossbar twice, we were able to finish the game with a 2-1 victory.
Saves -
  - Junior Emily Dunne - 7 Saves
  - Elgin Goalkeeper - 5 Saves
