JV Lions Defeat the Reed Custer Comets

The Lisle JV team managed only 21 yards offensively but escaped with the comeback victory Friday night.  Special teams and defense led the way for the Lions.  Trailing 6-0 at half sophomore Dylan Laue returned the second half opening kickoff 75 yards for the score.  The Lions took the lead when Aidan Lombardo connected with Laue for the 2-point conversion.  The slight lead was enough for the defense who shut out the Comets the rest of the way.  With Reed Custer driving late in the game sophomore linebacker Noah Berg caused a fumble and freshman defensive end Zach Webber returned it 42 yards for a touchdown sealing the win.  Freshman defensive lineman Mike Walker was dominant for Lisle leading the way with 10 tackles and a tackle for loss.  Anthony Raineri chipped in 5 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a sack.  Freshman middle linebacker Brett Weber contributed 8 tackles and a tackle for loss.  The Lions will take on Peotone next Friday at Benedictine University for Homecoming 2017.
