Plano Defeats Lions
Lisle traveled to Sandwich on Saturday to take on Plano in the opening round of the I-8 Frosh Tourney. The Reapers took a 11-4 lead in the first quarter as Lisle had 4 turn overs and missed on 3 lay ups to fall behind by 7. The second quarter saw Lisle finish around the basket with Brett Weber and Josh Farrell contributing with 2 buckets a piece and Cal Payne connecting from deep with a trey. The Lions went into the half still trai ling Plano 22-20. The second half saw Lisle only put up 9 points which was not enough as they fell to Plano 37-29, Josh Farrell finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds. The next game for the Lions was Westmont in the Tourney, the crosstown rival come out slow and Lisle held the Sentinels to 6 points in the first quarter putting the Lions up 10-6. The second saw Westmont take control by converting their lay ups and hitting some free throws giving the Sentinels the lead at the half 20-15. The Lions turned the ball over in the second half as they watched the Sentinels pull away with a 38-28 victory, the Lions didn't have much offense in the second half as they scored 6 points in each period. The Lions were paced by Cal Payne with 6 points and 3 assists. The Lions will travel to Glenbard West for an A/B game on Tuesday, 1-16 with a 5:30 tip.
