The Roadrunner’s Boys Varsity Golf team got off to the quickest start in school history by placing 1st and 2nd at the 12 team St. Laurence Invite, held at Lincoln Oaks Golf Course in Crete, Illinois.
We played with two separate teams. Team “A “was led by Junior, Michael Rooney, who shot a one under par 70, to win the Individual Championship among 72 players. Junior, Jonathon Winter finished in 4th place with a 76, followed by 6th place finisher, Junior, Nicolas Longo (77), other scores were; Seniors, Jack Keivan and John Hamilton with (79), and Pierce Wilson with an (85). The best four scores of the six players are used to establish a Team Score – Team “A” finished with a score of (302) to win the Title. Team “B” was led by Sophomore, Joe Keivan, who shot a four over par, 75 to earn 3rd place individual honors. Junior, Billy Brown, put up a 78 for 10th place honors, followed by Junior, Kevin Metzger (81), Sophomores, Matthew Winters (84) , Connor Devine (87), and John Berger (93). The top four scores for this group was 318, earning them the second place trophy for the invite.
