It is with great pride that we welcome you to the Providence Catholic High School Cheerleading Program!  The Varsity Celtics are 2013 State Champions, 2016 State Runners Up, five-time Sectional Champions, and five-time National Champions.  Providence Catholic High School Cheerleading is an extracurricular activity offering two team levels: Junior Varsity and Varsity (9th-12th grade). The core Augustinian values of truth, unity and love serve as the foundation of our program. PCHS Cheerleading supports the mission and vision of Providence Catholic High School not only through athletics, but through education and service as well.

The PCHS Cheerleading Program provides an opportunity for students to challenge themselves every day and to learn life lessons that will optimize their overall development. Team members promote school spirit and pride by cheering and performing at school games, assemblies and events, and by competing in competitions. They develop strong character and commitment, and make their Catholic faith an important part of their team experience through participation in community outreach activities and by attending team prayer services and Masses. The value of teamwork and good sportsmanship is emphasized. Each team member is encouraged to put forth an honest effort and strive for excellence so they may reach their fullest potential as individuals and as a team.

We have a very qualified coaching staff within the Providence Catholic Cheerleading Program. Collectively, the PC coaches have life-long years' of cheerleading expierence, training and knowledge, including 27 years at the collegiate and IHSA levels, as well as seven IHSA podium appearances, three IHSA State champion titles and five Nation champion titles. Our PC cheer coaches are National Federation of State High School Associations Level 1 Accredited and Level 2 Certified Interscholastic Coaches, IHSA Coaches, AACCA Safety-Certified, CPR and AED-Trained, have taken courses regarding concussions from the NFHS and the IHSA, and are Virtus Trained (Protecting God's Children).  Be sure to visit our "Roster" page to check out the complete bios and backgrounds of our cheerleading coaching staff. The coaches are alumnae of PCHS and LWC.

Crisis Center Christmas Gifts and Wrapping

The Varsity and JV cheerleading teams spent two evenings during the week of Christmas at a local Crisis Center.  The Center provides emergency shelter and services for individuals and families affected by domestic violence.  The PC cheerleaders brought donated toiletries, Christmas gifts, and wrapping supplies, and spent two evenings wrapping gifts for the Center's residents and their children.

December Toiletries Collection

Thank you to the December Stunt Clinic Participants and PC cheer families for your generous donations of toiletry items for the Crisis Center of South Suburbia.

Ronald McDonald House

The Varsity and JV cheerleading teams took time out of their Thanksgiving week and weekend to spend time with the families of young patients staying at the the Ronald McDonald House.  The Celtic cheerleaders donated the groceries and cooked three meals over two days for the RMH residents.  The girls not only made and served the meals, but also visited with the families who shared their stories with the girls.  One of the families we met had twins at the hospital and the mother was a graduate of Providence Catholic!

Half-Time Performance with Down in the Southland Cheer Team

It was an honor for the PC cheerleaders to recognize the Down in the Southland Cheer Team, and support Down Syndrome Inclusion Month at the PC home football game on Oct. 23, 2016.  The DIS team loves cheerleading!  The Celtics were excited to share that mutual passion with the DIS team in a combined half-time routine at the varsity game.  www.downinthesouthland.org  Click Link here to see the half-time performance:  http://www.schooltube.com/embed/d9189f3d6b794c41bae5
