JV-1 Boys Tennis Team Wins First Place at DGS Invite
The Warriors JV-1 boys tennis team won 1st place as a team in the Downers Grove South Invite, ahead of Lincoln-Way East, Saint Charles North, Fenwick, Palatine, Wheaton Warrenville South, Downers Grove South, and Glenbard South High Schools. At the #1 singles position, sophomore Mike Casey came in 1st place, winning in straight sets in his final match and starting the day off earning points for the Warriors. At the #2 doubles position, sophomore Ryan Lawless and freshman Rishabh Jain also came in 1st, fighting hard to win their final round in a difficult 3 set match. At the #3 doubles position, freshmen Advaith Seshan and Aneedeep Akurati beat their Fenwick opponents in straight sets in their final round, also earning 1st place. At the #2 singles position, sophomore Anirudh Iyengar came in 2nd place, losing his final match in a difficult 3 set battle against his Lincoln Way East opponent. At the #1 doubles position, Max Owens and Rajas Shringarpu came in 3rd place, playing the strong winds diligently to win their final round in a tie-breaker. At the #4 doubles position, sophomores Jacob Nave and Matthew Li came in 4th place.
