Glenbard North visited Waubonsie Valley and left with a 7-0 loss to our netters. The evening started rough at 4 doubles where Freitag and Kochman got down 3-0 in the first before rushing back with 6 games in a row to win the first set. The second set was tight until the Warriors won the match with a 12-10 tiebreaker. "We discussed that the first game of the second set was the tone setter for the match. We could of put them on their heels but let them win the first game and then it was a battle. Kudos to these two girls on fighting through the first set but I hope we can learn a lesson from the second set." The third doubles tandem of Paul and Ashley really showed great chemistry as they sailed through an 0 and 0 match."These girls were moving to the ball with ease and really surprised me as they finished points at the net. We have been looking for this since the beginning of the year." Two doubles with Hess and Panicker was a long battle as they battled to win a three setter 6-4 in the third. "We made too many unforced errors which kept them in the net along with feeding the opponents at the net. I commended the opponents as to their play up close and wished our girls would do the same!" the one doubles duo of Kothuri and Wright were down 4-2 in the first set tiebreaker and won five points in a row to win the breaker. Excellent resolve then to go out and take quick control of the second set 6-1. The singles matches were dominated by Waubonsie except a slight hiccup at 2 singles where Alvarez went 6-4 in the second set. Hannah Ownes crusied to a 1 and 1 victory which gave her a 10-1 record going into our match with Neuqua Valley. She is the quickest girl at WV to win 10 games in this short amount of time during a season. congrats Hannah! At three singles Carrington Patterson played well and showed depth in her strokes as she prevailed o and 1. At number 4 singles Shraddah Tirukavalluru also put on a dominate performance by winning o and 2. The Warriors are 5-2 while going 2-0 in the conference and now begin the really tough stretch in the DVC. We will be at Neuqua Valley on Thrusday. Go Warriors!
