Game Summary

The Wheaton South Tigers visited  Waubonsie Valley and left with a tightly contested 4-3 victory. The Tigers highly ranked first singles player disposed of Hannah Owens quickly with a 1 and 0 score. At number two singles Alvarez battled back from a 5-2 deficit before losing 6-4 and then was a no show in the second set getting beat 6-0. Third singles saw a Warrior win where sophmore Shraddah Tirukovalluru over whelmed her opponent 2 and 1. Wins at one and two doubles for Wheaton sealed the deal as Wright and Kothuri lost 3 and1 while Hess and Ashley were beaten 4 and 1. Two points came from the Warriors at three and four doubles where Panicker and Patterson won 3 and 4 at three doubles and the duo of Kochman and Freitag continued their consistant play winning in three sets 2-6,6-2,6-4. "We are not progressing forward and not trusting the process to get us there. There has been so much practice time spent on fundamentals that are not transferring to the match play. We need to play harder and trust our practices. Frustration was apparent in a few matches as girls are trying to do shots they are not ready to suceed at. All of our unforced errors are giving opponents too many free points and they are capitalizing on them." Back to work for the Warrior netters and then a Saturday clash at West Aurora.
