The Warriors traveled out of conference Wednesday to battle with Batavia on their senior night. The Warriors came away with a tough 7-2 win winning three of the four three set matches. "I am so glad to see our girls battling to win these close matches. We were losing these two to three weeks ago and are learning how hard you need to compete to win at this level. Three set wins came from Wright/Patterson at 2 doubles, Gooch/Freitag at 4 doubles and Bridgeman/Sama at 5 doubles. The 3 doubles team of Kochman/Panicker won in two sets 4 and 4 along with a long 1st doubles match won by Kothuri/Alvarez. Hannah Owens won at 1 singles 0 and 3. "I was concerned when Hannah won her first set so easily and sure enough she got a bit complacent and it showed in the second set. She showed maturity by closing out the match at 4-3 winning two games in a row. This shows her senior leadership qualities. She went to the next gear when needed." The Warriors will need these competitive qualities as we play our last conference match today at Metea Valley. Go Warriors! As usual, a huge thank you for the parents who have traveled so well this year with our team. Your presence did not go unnoticed. I am hoping your daughters have told you thanks for cheering them on. If not I am thanking you for all of your support this year.
