The Peer Helper program was developed as a way of helping youth within the school environment to deal with the problems that confront them. Peer Helpers include a cross-section of students and adults. Peer Helpers receive training communication, decision- making skills and resources to assist youth. Peer Helpers are involved in a variety of activities at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, i.e., Peer Communication, Peer Mentoring, Children Learning Other Ways Naturally (CLOWN), Teens Against Tobacco Use (T.A.T.U.), and Students for a Drug Free Tomorrow (SFDFT).
