Kaneland Pole Vault Summer Camp


Beginners - June 21st - June 30th - Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-5:30          Cost: $50

Experienced - June 22nd - July 1st - Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-5:30            Cost: $50


Registration:  Through the Kaneland Webstore Summer Camp Registration

Location: Kaneland High School Track/Stadium (we’ll meet at the main gate)


What to bring:  T-Shirt and shorts.  Running shoes/flats.  Spikes (if you have them).  Water.  Mask.


What to expect:  High level of instruction in Track and Field’s most difficult event


What makes a good vaulter: Coachability, application, focus, speed, core strength, coordination. Gymnastic Background is a plus!


Isn’t pole vault dangerous?  NO! With the correct coaching, it’s one of the safest and most fun events!  


Instructor:  Andy Drendel.  Coach Drendel has been the Pole Vault coach at Kaneland High School for 12 years.  He also is the Head Boys Track and Field Coach.  The Boys Pole Vault program at Kaneland High School has a high reputation of excellence across Illinois dating back to Harold Anderson who started it all.  Our Pole Vault program has produced 4 State Champions, 31 All State Athletes, 27 athletes vaulting in college, and a 2x National Champion.
