Lane Tech Boys Bowling Pulls Through To Advance

HABETLER BOWL, CHICAGO IL - The Lane Tech boys bowling team competed in a ten team regional final last Saturday. They placed third out of the ten teams which was enough to break through to the sectional. Lane tech started out in 5th place with 830 pins in the first game but came out firing in the second game with a score of 1026 pins, putting them at the top of the leaderboard for game 2. However, in game 3 the boys would lose some steam posting a score of just 785 pins, their worst of the day. In game 4 Lane Tech recovered breaking 1,000 for the second time with 1.005 pins putting them back in the race. They stayed consistent in the final two games placing second and third putting them just 14 pins behind in second place.


Daniel Esguerra (Sophomore) and Elias Rivera-Vasquez (Senior) were standout performers for Lane Tech. Esguerra finished the match with 1198 pins averaging almost 200 pins per game. Rivera-Vasquez finished with 1130 pins and and average of 188.33 pins per game.


Lane Tech looks ahead to the state sectional with wide-eyed anticipation as they will be facing their toughest competition yet.
