Lane Tech cruises past Jones-Payton

Lane Tech Junior Varsity and Varsity was able to out swim Jones-Payton this Tuesday. Lane Tech Junior Varsity won 88-46 and Varsity won 92-49 with Delylah Hernandez being named swimmer of the meet.

Lane Tech was able to set the tone of  the meet with the first event when  JV swimmer Emery “jo” Himes winning the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:17:16. Lane Tech would go on to the next three events and would go on to win 14/16 events and win the entire meet.

Varsity captain Cecillia Joshi, who won the 100 yard butterfly event on tuesday,  had to say this about her team “Jones-Payton were the runners up at City Championships last year so it definitely was a competitive meet, though our swimmers all swam some of their fastest in-season times on Tuesday so we were able to win the meet by a good margin, which goes to show how well everyone on our team has been training even amid the challenging circumstances.”

Lane Tech will go against Von Steuben, next thursday, October 1st, 2020, where they hope to get another win and more personal records.
