Winter Sports Tryout Schedule

Winter Tryout Schedule: All athletes must have an IHSA physical approving sports participation.

 

Basketball:

Girls: 

October 28th: Check in for Freshman Tryouts: numbers assigned for tryouts 3:30pm in Gym 2)

November 1st: Varsity 3:30-6:00pm (Gym 1), Sophomores: 5:00-7:00pm (Gym 1), Freshmen 5:00-7:00pm (Gym 2)

November 2nd: Varsity 3:30-6:00 (Gym 1), Sophomores: 5:30-7:30 (Gym 1), Freshmen 5:00-7:00pm (Gym 2)

November 3rd: Varsity 3:30-6:00 (Gym 1), Sophomores: 5:30-7:30 (Gym 1), Freshmen 5:00-7:00pm (Gym 2)
 

Boys: 

November 3rd: Tryout informational meeting: 3:30pm (Room 220)

November 8th: Varsity: 3:30-5:30pm (Gym 1), Sophs 5:30-7:30pm (Gym 2), Freshmen 6:00-7:30am (Gym 1)

November 9th: Sophs: 5:30-7:30pm (Gym 1), Freshmen: 6:00am-7:30am (Gym 1)

November 10th: Mandatory Parent Meeting for those that make the team (6:00-7:00pm in Cafeteria)

Lane Tech Dusts the Competition With a tie for 2nd

HUMBOLDT PARK- Last week on September 18, Whitney Young held an invitational.  Latin came in first place with a score of 60 points, and Lane and Whitney tied for second place with 65 points each.  

 

This was a good display for Lane, which showed the depth of their team, having a strong overall score.  Their fastest runner was Hunter Whitney coming in at 15:42.5.  William Archer was the runner up at 16:01 and in third was Declan Toomey with a time of 16:03.4.  In the 2.98 miles, freshman/sophomore Lane had another second place with a score of 60.  Their fastest runners were Will Kozlowski, Eli Furgeson, and Charlie Beals.

 

The next meet will be held on Tuesday, 9/29 for the Mather Invitational, facing off against Jones, Latin, Mather, Northside, Payton, Senn, Taft, and Whitney Young.  The school of champions will once again have to show their grit in a tough 3 mile run.
