Lane Tech Boys Cross Country Comes Out on Top at the Taft Invitational
TAFT HIGH SCHOOL- In the recent Boy’s Cross Country Meet, Lane Tech came in a close second overall next to Saint Ignatius. Lane received a total of 38 points in this event placing second, Saint Ignatius receiving 19 putting them in 1st, Jones in 3rd with 92 points, DePaul in 4th with 108 points, and Whitney in 5th with a total of 125 points.
Lane’s own runner, William Archer, placed 5th to set a season record for Lane in the Varsity (fast) 3-mile event 18 min or under, with a time of 16:14.2. Overall Lane had a consistent placement in 2nd and a couple of Varsity Runners in the 3-Mile 18 min or under getting PRs, Rory Quinn with a PR of 16:48.0, Kyle Smorynski with a PR of 16:35.0, and Theo Canji received a season record of 17.03.0.
The Lane Tech Boys Cross Country team will run again in the upcoming meet against Latin on October 7 at Latin High School.
