Game Summary

Lane Cruises Past Schurz For A Nice Win

LANE TECH- This past Saturday Lane Tech defeated Schurz 56-44 which was the most points scored by Lane in a game this season so far.

Lane set the tone by starting out hot with a 15-10 lead after the first quarter. Their perimeter defense throughout the game made it tough for Schurz to get many quality looks. Because of their defense, Lane was able to hold Schurz to 6 points in the second quarter. By the end of the first half, Aaron McQueen had half of Lane’s 26 points.

While Schurz started to make a second-half push, the scoring for Lane did not stop at half. Lane went on to score another 30 points in the second half led by Ethan Grunebaum’s three 3s. Sean Molloy tacked on 6 while McQueen added to his monster night with another 7 points. Tyshawn Jones tried to cut the lead by scoring 12 points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to stop Lane’s surge.

By the end of the game, Lane had outscored Schurz in the first three quarters. Lane was able to do this with the help from top scorer Aaron McQueen who had 20 points. Ethan Grunebaum chipped in as well with 13 of his own points to help secure the win. While Schurz lost by a considerable amount, Tyshawn Jones, the lead scorer with 16 points, tried to cut Lane’s lead.

Lane heads into their next game against Taft with an undefeated record of 3-0.
