Lane Tech Sadly Falls Short At Twilight

NAPERVILLE NORTH HS - On Wednesday, the 9th, Lane Tech Varsity Girls Cross country team finished 17th overall in their 3-mile race although still giving it their all. This is a surprise for the varsity girls considering their sixth-place race on the 28th of September with 190 points. Our fastest runner this meet was Danielle Martinez with a time of 18 minutes and 55.5. The team had a score of 464 points.

It was a cool 62 degrees on Wednesday, which made ideal running conditions. Another one of our distance runners, Fiona Glascott with a time of 20 minutes and 20 seconds is back from an injury last season but did not have her best race. She said, “The race was at night on a school day making it harder to be prepared.” Avery Moss quoted, “The Naperville Twilight Invitational was super intense. The competition was extremely tough but our team really pushed through together by taking advantage of the fast and flat course. Many of us got personal records!” Knowing Lane Tech, the girls will take this meat as a learning experience and come back ready for the City championship.

The girls will be looking for revenge next Wednesday the 16th of October At the  Chicago public league City championship. Lane Tech will have some tough competition but if they put in the work try their hardest you could watch them take the win at 11 A.M. Wednesday.
