SKOKIE, IL - On Saturday, January 11th, the Lane Tech varsity boys swim team fell short by two points to competitors Jones and Payton. They finished with a score of 92, having swimmers come in the top three for every event except 50 and 10 free.
Two swimmers demonstrated tremendous skill and effort winning in their events and setting the pace for a competitive season. Junior Zach Butters came in first for the 500 free and Senior Michael Puczko for the 100 breastroke.
In this meet the varsity boys were missing several of their swimmers. In a quote from Holden O’Neil, the meet proved that they “have a good chance of winning at city” as losing by two points to top competitors without a full roster demonstrated their skill and capabilities this season.
Lane’s next meet will be at the Highland Park Invite at Highland Park High School, January 18th at 1:00pm.
