ATHLETIC CONTACT DAYS.....10/26-10/31 CANCELLED

PLEASE SEE BELOW THE EMAIL THAT WAS ISSUED BY SUPERINTENDENT DR. ISOYE AND NILES WEST PRINCIPAL DR. RITTER:

Over the past few days, the Village of Skokie and Cook County have reported an increase in COVID-19 cases across all age demographics. This morning, the Skokie Health Department advised us to cancel athletic “contact days” because the benefits of these optional experiences may not outweigh the potential health risks to students and staff. Contact days were scheduled to end at the end of this week. (10/31/20)

In addition to the athletic "contact days", we are also cancelling all extracurricular activites that have been using our outside facilities after school until further notice. Similar to "contact days", these are optional experiences for our students. In partnership with the Skokie Health Department, we will continue to review the situation on the future status of extracurricular activities.

While this is clearly disappointing news for our students, coaches, and sponsors, the rise of cases in the area are deeply concerning, and we believe these are necessary steps to help mitigate the spread of the virus.

Niles West Wolves Athletic programs compete in the Central Suburban League or CSL. The Central Suburban League is one of the most prestigious and competitive interscholastic high school athletic leagues in the state of Illinois. The Niles West Wolves are proud to compete in the SOUTH Division of the CSL. Niles West offers twenty-eight (28) interscholastic athletic programs that compete during the school year. The competition schedules are organized according to the three seasons - FALL, WINTER, and SPRING. Information contained within this website will clarify which sports compete during which season.

Before any Niles West student will be allowed to try out for a sport, they must be registered thru the website for each sport they are participating in and have a current physical. This is an Illinois High School Association rule - therefore, no exceptions will be made. Per Niles Township High School District 219 Board of Education policy, student-athletes must maintain WEEKLY academic eligibility to participate in sports at Niles West High School.

We hope this website provides answers to all your sports questions. We look forward to talking and meeting with each of you whether in our offices or on a playing field. We ask that you be respectful of school policies and the health and safety of all and leave your tobacco products and your pets at home. Thank you and ... GO WOLVES!
