TONY FIDANZO - HEAD COACH
Tony has been on the staff since the 2016-17 season and became head coach this year (2018-19).
He began his fishing "career" when he was just 10 years old fishing southern Wisconsin lakes with his father, who was a professional fisherman. At 13, he was making yearly trips to Canada fishing the boundary waters as well as salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. As time went on, Tony realized that the time spent with his father was more valuable than the advanced knowledge he acquired. That fellowship and those memories is what drives his coaching philosophy.
Tony has had a long career in the education field. It began as an adjunct professor teaching marketing and communication courses at National Louis University in their School of Management and Business; as well as DePaul University in their School of Public Services.
He worked for the Archdiocese of Chicago in the Office of Research and Planning, helping parishes with their strategic planning. That led to his working for the Office of Catholic Schools and became their first Marketing Director.
Tony graduated from Bradley University with a B.S. in communication and several years later earned a Master's Degree in Organizational Management from Loyola University.
Tony spent ten years coaching various youth sports and began fishing with his son when he was 3 years old and they continue sharing time on the water. He is also Virtus Trained (Protecting God's Children). He has been married for 24 years and his son is now in college and his daughter is a sophomore in high school.
His experience and training is an asset to making the "fishing team experience" worthwhile for those with various talent and interest levels.
