Shepard snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-9 victory over Thornton Fractional South on Thursday. The game was tied at nine with Shepard batting in the top of the seventh when Katie Justin singled, scoring two runs to break the tie!
An eight-run lead in the second inning was just enough for Shepard Astros to hold off Thornton Fractional South for the victory. Thornton Fractional South put up nine runs in the failed comeback.
In the first inning, Shepard Astros got their offense started. Ellison McGovern drove in one when she singled.

Kelly Greene was stellar on the mound and earned the win . She lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and nine runs while striking out ten and walking one.
