Game Summary

Senior Night provides for a great game

Friday night was all about honoring Yorkville's 5 seniors: Lily Guerra, Halle Jones, Lexi Meyer, Olivia Ross, and Lexi Sandon.  These fine young ladies have put in so much time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears into the program and have done a phenomenal job of leading by example as well as through putting others first.  The final outcome of the game wasn't what we wanted, but it really was a great game. Finding themselves down 25-16 at half, the Foxes never quit.  They slowly chipped away at the deficit, closing the gap to 4 by holding Oswego East ot just 6 points in the third quarter.  With under 3 minutes to go the Foxes found themselves down 6.  Never quitting though, they put on some nice ball pressure and was able to get Oswego East to turn the ball over as well as shoot some bad shots.  With 30 seconds left the Foxes tied the game with a great finish by Lexi Meyer off of a great assist from Kenzie Senffner.  Oswego East was able to respond though with a rebound and an old fashioned three point play.  The Foxes still got two opportunities to tie the game, but unfortunately the shots didn't fall.  Overall it was a very hard fought effort by both teams with Oswego East winning by a final score of 42-39. The 5 seniors will ultimately leave behind a great legacy of a “no quit” attitude and tremendous energy and effort despite any circumstance, score, or opponent.
