Yorkville played the roll of spoiler on Oswego's senior night beating the Panthers 49-44. The Foxes withstood Oswego's hot shooting 1st half to keep their lead to 5 points at 23-28. Yorkville picked up their defense in the 2nd half holding the Panthers to 16 points (6 in the 4th quarter alone) with Zak Konecny and Ty McCurdy (5 points) keeping their opponents (Kobe Adams and Connor McCance) under double digits with 8 and 6 points respectfully. The Foxes were led by Ryan Shimp's 17 points while Konecny chipped in with 13 points and a team high 6 rebounds. Jack Marker and Brandon Ducoing did a great job moving the ball around with 6 assists for Marker and 4 assists for Ducoing. With the win, Yorkville moves to 12-16 overall and 4-11 in SPC play. Yorkville will look to finish the regular season with a winning streak when they host Plainfield North Tuesday night for Senior Night before Regionals begin the week after.
