Program Highlights:

2017 IHSA Regional Championship, 2 IHSA State Finals Individual Qualifiers

2018 IHSA State Championship Team Qualifier

Coach Jason Beer enters into his 4th year of coaching and teaching at Solorio. This will be his fourth as Head Girls XC Coach.   In his first three seasons as head coach, the team has placed 8th at the CPS Championships and won the 2017-2018 IHSA Regional Championship 2nd while qualifying for the IHSA Sectionals the past 3 years. In 2018, the Sun Warriors became the first team in school history to qualify for the IHSA State Championships as a team.

Beer was a cross-country and track athlete all through high school and college, attending North Central College in the Chicago suburban city of Naperville.

Prior to Solorio, Beer was the Head Girl's Cross-country coach at Schaumburg high school where his teams qualified for 3 consecutive State Cross-Country meets.

Getting to know Coach Beer:

Why did you get into coaching?

"My main inspiration for coaching is seeing the growth that occurs in athletes from a personal, social, academic and athletic standpoint. I believe my main responsibility is to help guide athletes to improve in those areas. Cross-country and track & field gives every single athlete the opportunity to improve and develop. I love being apart of that growth and development."

What are your goals for your program?

"We are always looking to simply improve every year and be at our best at the end of the season. As long as we do that, the results will take care of themselves."

What is your favorite part of coaching at Solorio?

"I love the sense of community and support that is present at Solorio. Everybody is hear to truly support one another and celebrate each others successes."
