Head Coach - Alex Peacock (4th Season)

Email: apeacock2@cps.edu

Coach Peacock enters his 4th season as head coach of the wrestling program at Solorio.  Peacock wrestled for St. Laurence and Hubbard HS before wrestling in college for Coach Harry McGinnis at Triton College.

At Solorio, Peacock has coached City Champion Gabe Palos and has worked with Beat the Streets to build youth wrestling in the community.

Getting to know Coach Peacock:

Why did you get into coaching?

"I have a passion for the sport of wrestling. Wrestling is such an amazing sport that provides youth an opportunity to learn things that will help them throughout their lifetime. It helps to develop strong minds and strong bodies. It helps our students to learn to set goals and work to achieve those goals. It is a great sport that I am very grateful to have competed in, and I am still very fortunate to be able to continue to coach and pass along lessons that I have learned along the way.

What are the goals for your program/team?

"My goal for the program is to make sure all of my wrestlers graduate from high school and are prepared for college."

What is your favorite part of coaching at Solorio?

"My favorite part of coaching at Solorio is being able to work with the students in the Gage Park / West Elsdon area. Solorians are dedicated, hard working and intelligent young people and I am proud to be a part of this culture."
