Soph relay records fall in varsity swim win

Evanston established 3 new sophomore school relay records Friday night in a 146-28 pasting of Maine West in Central Suburban League South division dual meet action.

The Wildkits won the 200-yard medley behind an all-sophomore relay unit of Caden Hardy, Milo Balzer, Charlie Herrick and Aaron Martin, clocked in a soph record 1 minute, 41.30 seconds. Herrick, Hardy and Martin then combined with Connor McGuire for another record in the 200 freestyle of 1:31.15.

The Kits capped off the lopsided victory with another record win in the 400 freestyle relay, in 3:20.27, behind the unit of Herrick, McGuire, Balzer and Martin.

Individual winners for ETHS included John Martin, 1:02.75 in the 100 breaststroke and 22.61 in the 50 freestyle; Brendan Long, 57.62 in the 100 backstroke; Patrick Alonso, 5:16.77 in the 500 freestyle and 1:57.69 in the 200 freestyle; Alex Johnson, 51.47 in the 100 freestyle; diver  Aryeh Lesch with 283.05, a personal best; and Charlie Duffy, 2:03.54 in the 200 individual medley,
