With the Green and Gold Game behind us, the varsity boys basketball team will face many challenging opponents in the upcoming season. They’ve proven their capabilities in the past seasons, finishing their last with a record of 18 wins and 11 losses. This one should be no different as they welcome key players to the team: Justin Brown, Aaron Mcqueen, and Chris Mcqueen. With the key newcomers’ and key returners’ heights ranging between 5’11” and 6’6” the basketball team will be set with tall players. This is a helpful addition to the already well-skilled team. The basketball team will be competing in the Red Northwest Conference, and this year, they’ll also be playing in the Battle of the Bridge Thanksgiving Tournament, Proviso West Holiday Tournament, Chicago Elite Classic, D-Rose Shootout, or Breast Cancer Awareness Shootout. Last season, they were able to win the Maine East Holiday Tournament. They also faced multiple opponents in the 4A Regional Championship, only losing to Whitney Young. The season may start off slow, but the Lane Tech Community continues to stay loyal and cheer the team on. Be sure to come check out the varsity boys basketball team play when you can, for there are many home games this season!
