Low Risk Winter Athletics begin again on Tuesday Jan. 19th
Low-Risk Winter Athletics, which includes Badminton, Cheer, Dance, Bowling, Gymnastics, and Boys Swim/Dive, can all begin practice once again as early as Tuesday the 19th. Coaches will reach out to those teams that already conducted tryouts in November to resume the season. Those sports that did not yet have tryouts will have a schedule posted here soon. Please be sure you are registered on 8to18 and have a current physical on record at the school. All COVID-related mitigations remain in place so masks must be worn, social distancing observed, no sharing of items. Please bring your own water bottles and be prepared as locker rooms are still off-limits. Any student that has Covid related symptoms must be picked up immediately and cannot take part until quarantine guidelines are completed.
Out of season athletics will resume contact days in the immediate future. Coaches of those sports will have that information on social media, announcements in school and online, as well as on this website. The same COVID related procedures outlined above for in-season athletics are expected for contact days. We will update this information as IDPH/IHSA and the Governor's Office release new information.
Here is the link that will show the bus routes that will run each school day during remote learning to get students to OHS for a 3:10 pm drop off for either winter practices or contact days if it is needed for a student to get here. There is no return service, so students would have to be picked up from OHS after their contact day is done. All students would have to follow the Phase 4 Guidelines in order to participate.

Second 2020-21 National Letter of Intent Virtual Signing Day
The Second National Letter of Intent Signing Day for 2020-2021 will be Wednesday, February 3rd in a virtual setting (unless we get clearance from IDPH to do in person event, if so we will). We will have our signing ceremony via Google Hangout beginning at 4 pm. If you are an OHS athlete that is committed to a college for athletics and are prepared to do your signing, please e-mail Mr. Howard at dhoward@sd308.org with your name, sport, school e mail address, and the school you are signing with by the morning of February 2nd. An e-mail will be sent to you that you can then share with parents, coaches, and family. Please have the signing student wear a shirt or hat from the college. Your high school coach will introduce you, say a few things in your honor, and then allow you a minute or so to say thank you to your group. Please keep all comments professional and respectful. We look forward to giving this opportunity to our student-athletes as we all practice social distancing and do our parts to end this pandemic. Congratulations to all who are signing!
