Out of Season Sports Contact Days Info and Bus Schedules

Panthers and Panther Parents,

During the time period from Sept 7 to Oct 31, IHSA is allowing all out of season sports to have additional contact days where coaches can work with and coach students.  A number of our sports programs will take part in this.  Here is the link that will show the bus routes that will run each school day during remote learning to get students to OHS for a 3:10 pm drop off if it is needed for a student to get here for an athletic contact day.  There is no return service, so students would have to be picked up from OHS after thier contact day is done.  All students would have to follow the Phase 4 Guidelines in order to participate.

If you have interest in any particular sport, here is the link for the e-mail addresses of each head coach of an out of season sport that you can contact for more information.   COACH E MAILS

Fans at Contests during Fall Season -EACH SCHOOL IN SPC LISTED BELOW

Parents and Panther Fans,

Greetings and I certainly hope this note finds you and your family safe and healthy!

As we begin this very unusual athletic season and school year, a reminder about showing good sportsmanship at our contests as we begin what is already going to be a very different and stressful time for our fall student-athletes in the face of the ongoing pandemic.

The current sports taking place outside are cross country, tennis, and golf.  The current Phase 4 guidelines from the IHSA and IDPH do allow for fans in groups of 50 that must be spaced 30 feet apart.  Fans cannot approach student athletes as we must keep them in groups of 50 or less and also 30 feet apart from all other groups.  Fans must be masked at all times. It will be a different environment than what we are used to, but safety remains the first protocol.

Our only current indoor sport is girls swim and dive.  In the indoor setting, only 50 are allowed in a space.  So as it stands today, it appears fans will not be able to be at the swim/dive events in person.  Oswego East is placing a web streaming camera in the pool area and will stream the events so that they can be watched on the NFHS network.  OEHS will have that information on their website once it is set to go.

I thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.  It is imperative that we follow the guidelines and expectations so that our student-athletes have this opportunity to have a season. Below is a list from each SPC school on the guidelines they are taking, please read and be aware if you are visiting that school for a contest.

Panthers Take 3rd Place at Sycamore Invite

The Panther varsity team had a solid showing in the morning round and kept themselves in the hunt for a top three finish as they rolled team scores of 832, 792, and 972 for a total morning series of 2,596.  The team positioned themselves for a strong finish in game three as three bowlers topped 200 in the final game of the morning including Savanna Jourdan and Katelyn Watson who both shot 204, and Lani Breedlove who had a solid 233.

The Panthers picked up where they left off after the lunch break and rolled a 953, their high team score of the tournament, which included nice games by Evelyn James (200), Jourdan (203), and Lily Ratledge (223).  Game two of the afternoon saw Oswego put up another solid score of 939 and the team finished with an 800 team score in the final game of the tournament to end the day with a total pinfall of 5,288 and a 3rd place finish.  Breedlove earned a 12th place medal for her efforts and Jourdan was just shy of earning a medal at 13th place.

It was a true team effort as all Panther bowlers topped 1,000 in series and these bowlers included Breedlove (1,089), Jourdan (1,084), Watson (1,057), Ratledge (1,044), and James (1,014).
