SPartans compete at Gus Scott invite and place 5th.

The Spartans competed at a 2 day Gus Scott Invitatonal this past weekend.  The Spartans came away with 5th place and some very good performances.  On friday,m Joel Anyan led the charge with a first place finish in the High Jump, clearing 6'3".  Next up was Josh Kamuda with a career mile performance of 4:44.57 (5th), followed by Chase Pruett with another carrer PR of 4:47.74 (7th).  Reuben Sosavi placed 5th in shot put with a distance of 40'3".  The 4 x 800 of Kamuda, Pruett, Victor Lopez and Nathan Florendo finished in 5th place.  Rounding out the nightwas Josh Carli finishing in 7th place in the 300 IH with a career time of 43.61.  Carli came back the next day to place 9th in the 110m HH (17.96) and impressive 2nd place finish in the 400 (53.45) career PR.  Taofiq Shogbuyi raced to a 2nd place finish in the 100 (11.36) then cam back in the 200 with a career PR of 23.34 for a 5th place finish.  Carli, Shogbuyi, Elijah Lofton and Jacquille Brown placed 4th in the 4 x 100 (45.12).  Lofton came back in the 100 and hit a career pr of 11.94.  Jabari Thomas ran a career Pr in the 200m (25.79).  Bright Boasiako placed 7th in triple jump (36'5") and Elvis George hit a PR in triple jump with a 34'8" jump.  Jacquille Brown finished in 7th place with a 17'5" jump.  The Spartans compete against Oswego and Plainfield North on Tuesday, May 11th, at Oswego High School.
