Return to Low Risk Winter Athletics...
This week, Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) lifted the Tier 3 Mitigations in Region 8, which had paused our Winter Sports. As a result, we will resume all low risk Winter Sports beginning on Monday, January 25th, (Girls & Boys Bowling, Girls Gymnastics, Boys Swim & Dive, Cheer, and Dance). U46 Athletic Departments will continue to follow IDPH and IHSA Guidelines as our Winter Sports resume. Also, we will be adding Badminton to our current winter sports. We will also begin a new winter sport starting Monday, and that sport will be badminton. If you were registered and participating in one of the sports that began in November your coach will be in touch soon about practice times for next week. If you are interested in participating in badminton you must register on 8to18, https://sehs.8to18.com/, and also have a current physical on file. Completed and updated physical forms can be emailed to southelginhighschoolathletics@

SPEECH/DEBATE TEAM | Combined
Welcome to the SPEECH/DEBATE page. Here you will find the latest information on this organization.
The SEHS Speech and Drama team will have weekly Monday meetings in E104 from 3:05-3:35pm. All members are required to attend Monday meetings. At our meetings, students will be given the agenda for each of our Saturday tournaments, and students will sign up for individual, one-on-one coaching sessions.
Coaching sessions are necessary for competition.Students are required to have two coaching sessions each week prior to the tournament. Students will be able to sign up for coaching via our Google Classroom page with Mrs. Dicker-Krase, Ms. Dooman, Mr. Ruback, or Mrs. Jacobsen. Mrs. Dicker-Krase will host “run-throughs” on Friday afternoons prior to tournaments. While attendance at run-throughs is not required, it is strongly recommended.
Our tournaments are on Saturdays from November to the beginning of the State Series in February. Students will be expected to attend at least one tournament a month. The more tournaments students attend, the more experience in competition they will gain.
Pick up for Saturday tournaments will vary depending on how far we are travelling. Pick up times will range from 6:00am to 6:45 am and students will return from tournaments between 6:00-6:30 pm.
Prior to joining the team, students must register online through 8to18 and pay the $150 activity fee.Individual coaching sessions will not be conducted until student has officially signed up. Students on free and reduced lunch may have the activity fee waived. Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Dicker-Krase at email@example.com
