GIRLS TRACK | Varsity
Welcome to the 2018 Girls Track Season!
We look forward to another rewarding and exciting season. What you need to know while registering your athlete:
Make sure your athlete has a current (within a year) sports physical
Athletic fees are paid (items need to be turned in to the athletic office before participating in practice).
Register on il.8to18.com/sehs beginning January 1st.
Other important bits of information:
Track and Field is one season, indoor and outdoor
No previous experience needed
You may be sore after practice the first few days… You are OK
There are 18 different events to choose from! Check out YouTube Videos to have an idea of the events you may want to compete in.
Volt Athletics will be our main strength and conditioning training for the season.

Practice begins Tuesday, January 16th from 3:15-5:30pm. Athletes will get a copy of the first two month calendar at practice if they did not receive one at the December 12th meeting. Athletes who are registered, have paid their athletic fees, with a current physical and are in good academic standing and ready to practice will need to bring the following to school:
Workout clothing for both indoor practice and outdoor. (We will determine where practice will be held based on daily weather reports).
Athletes will also need a good pair of running training shoes. (We recommend Dick Ponds in St. Charles if needing to purchase a new pair. Please stay away from the Nike Frees or any other thin sole, minimal support running shoes. This will help to minimize injuries throughout the season. We recommend a new pair each season).
At least two pair of socks to be worn during practices to help absorb the shock of running on the hallway floors.
Girls will come down to the athletic locker room after school and will be able to change. All belongs will get locked up in the locker room and once all are changed we will meet at the end of the athletic hallway to begin practice promptly 3:15. ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY With the Exception of Academics and Being Sick. A Pass, Note, and or DR. Note is Required to Return to Practice. Injured Athletes Must Still Come to Practice. Excessive absences(more than 1 per month), lack of effort in practices and disrespect to coaches, teammates and managers will eliminate you from competing in meets.
