Varsity Girls Basketball Sweeps the T-Bolts

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team swept the Andrew T-Bolts out of the North Gym with a dominating defensive performance on Pack the Place Night, before a large crowd and the Charger Pep Band.  The T-Bolts stayed with the Chargers throughout the 1st quarter, as Stagg struggled to get into a rythem against Andrew's zone defense.  After 8 minutes, it was Stagg on top 10-7.  In the 2nd quarter, it was all Chargers, as they nearly shut out the T-Bolts, outscoring them 11-2 for a 21-9 lead at the half.  The Chargers picked up right where they left off in the 3rd, running the floor for a 12-4 advantage in the quarter, and a 33-13 lead heading for the 4th quarter.  The final 8 minutes saw the Chargers score 8 more, including Kate Murray's strong drive to the hoop, as well as Jordan Abraham's beautiful running jumper at the buzzer.  The Chargers win their 2nd in a row, and sweep the season series with Andrew.

Maggie Mintle and Gail Korbitz led a balanced scoring attack for the Chargers, each scoring 7 points.  In all, 10 Chargers scored, as all 12 players saw significant game time on this night.

The Chargers are now 10-14 overall, and move to 2-3 in the SWSC Red Division
