Varsity Girls Basketball Earns Road Win

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team travelled to Oak Forest Monday night, and came back to Palos Hills with a hard fought 10 victory over the Bengals, who came into the game with 16 victories on the season.  The Chargers opened the game by putting the Bengals on their heels with a 15-4 first quarter outburst.  But, Oak Forest battled back in the second, holding the Chargers to 11 points, while scoring 16 of their own for a 26-20 Stagg lead at the half.  After a Bengal basket to open the second half, the Chargers went on a 17-11 run for the rest of the 3rd, which ended with the Chargers up 47-35.  In the 4th, Oak Forest tried to come back, but the Chargers stood strong.

Leading the way was Laila Barakat with 18 points, while Gail Korbitz had 12, and Kelsey Dwyer 11.

The Chargers are now 9-14 on the season.
