Varsity Girls Basketball Tops the Vikings

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team snapped a 3 game losing streak with a 7 point win over the scrappy and well coached St. Laurence Vikings Monday night.  The Chargers broke out to a 9-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Vikings 27-19 in the middle two periods.  The Chargers also withstood a furious Viking rally which cut a 13 point Stagg lead down to 7 in the last 3 mknutes.

Laila Barakat led all scoers with 18 points, while Gail Korbitz had 15 on a number of strong moves to the basket.

The Chargers inch closer to the .500 mark with the win, their record now at 7-9.
